Common questions
How long before I can drive on a new driveway?
Keep vehicles off for about 7 days. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks, but a week is the safe minimum for cars. Foot traffic is fine after 24–48 hours. We'll confirm exact timing for your pour, since weather and mix affect it — and we'd rather you wait a day longer than mark a perfect slab.
Do you remove the old driveway?
Yes — demolition, removal and disposal of the old concrete is quoted as part of a replacement job, machines and skip bins included. You won't lift a finger or be left with a pile of rubble.
What about the council crossover?
The strip between your boundary and the road is council-controlled, and any permit or fee sits with the property owner — we list it as an exclusion on every quote so there are zero surprises. We're always happy to point you in the right direction for your council.
Will my driveway crack?
All concrete shrinks slightly as it cures — that's physics, not workmanship. Doing it by the book means cutting control joints that give the slab tidy, planned places to relieve that stress.
