Concrete Driveways in Albury–Wodonga

Your driveway works harder than any other concrete on your property — and it's the first thing every visitor sees. That's why we refuse to cut a single corner on one. From the excavation to the final cure, a KRG driveway is built by the book: proper depth, a compacted crushed-rock base, real reinforcement and a finish that still looks sharp decades from now. Quoted, poured and finished by the owner — never handed off to a subcontractor.

Built from the ground up — literally

A driveway only ever looks as good as what's underneath it. We excavate to the right depth, sort out any soft or filled ground honestly (no burying problems), then lay and compact a crushed-rock base so the slab is supported evenly across every square metre. Edge forms are set carefully to fall and level, so rain sheds exactly where it should — never into your garage.

Reinforcement is steel mesh or GFRP bar, professionally laid and chaired so it sits in the heart of the slab where it actually works — not dropped in the mud like the shortcut operators do it. We pour to the specified thickness, finish to your chosen surface, cut control joints in the right places and apply curing compound to protect the concrete while it gains strength. Every step to AS 3600 / AS 2870, and the site is left spotless.

Choose the finish that suits your home

Classic plain grey with a broom or trowel finish is the best-value driveway you can buy and always looks clean and sharp. Oxide colours through the mix give you charcoals, creams and warm earth tones that can never peel or wear off. And exposed aggregate adds genuine decorative stone for the best-looking, most slip-resistant driveway in the street. We'll walk you through samples and local examples at the quote, with honest advice on what suits your home and budget.

Common questions

How long before I can drive on a new driveway?

Keep vehicles off for about 7 days. Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks, but a week is the safe minimum for cars. Foot traffic is fine after 24–48 hours. We'll confirm exact timing for your pour, since weather and mix affect it — and we'd rather you wait a day longer than mark a perfect slab.

Do you remove the old driveway?

Yes — demolition, removal and disposal of the old concrete is quoted as part of a replacement job, machines and skip bins included. You won't lift a finger or be left with a pile of rubble.

What about the council crossover?

The strip between your boundary and the road is council-controlled, and any permit or fee sits with the property owner — we list it as an exclusion on every quote so there are zero surprises. We're always happy to point you in the right direction for your council.

Will my driveway crack?

All concrete shrinks slightly as it cures — that's physics, not workmanship. Doing it by the book means cutting control joints that give the slab tidy, planned places to relieve that stress. Minor hairline shrinkage marks are normal in any slab; what a proper base and real reinforcement prevent is the structural cracking that ruins a driveway.
